When the weather outside is frightful but you just gotta get out of the house, have fun and keep comfy with these local businesses offering indoor activities.
We searched for interesting activities that give you something different than the bowling alley that gets packed with leagues every weekend.
These activities are perfect for letting the kids get out some energy, taking the family out to try new things, and even make for a fun date night!
We’re sure you’ll find some fun things to do on this list, so let’s get to it!
Places To Go For Fun Indoor Activities
When you spend some time at one of these businesses, you’re sure to have a blast and walk away with awesome memories.
Here are some of the most unique and fun experiences we could find near the lake.
Hit Your Mark Axe Throwing
At Anderson Axe Throwing, you’re literally throwing axes at a target. Think of it like darts for lumberjacks. LOL
In all seriousness, it takes some skill and muscle to get the axe to hit its mark so don’t go in thinking you’re going to ace it on your first try.
This is a fun activity for couples, families, and even large groups. Don’t worry if you need a few tries to get the hang of it, it’s all just for fun!
Take A Swing At Climate Controlled Golfing
Golfing doesn’t usually make it on a list of indoor activities, but we think it definitely qualifies in this case. Even though this location is only half indoors, you won’t mind the exposure in one of the private bays at Top Golf in Greenville.
This isn’t your typical round of golf, at Top Golf you’ll play games trying to hit your ball to certain targets. And don’t worry if you’ve never played. This is a place for golfers of all levels to hang out and have fun.
Reserve a VIP bay which includes games and refreshments and spend a couple of hours hanging out and hitting balls. There’s even space for the kids with video games, foosball, and air hockey.
Jump It Out At A Trampoline Park
If you’re looking for a way to tire out the kids, you can’t do better than a trampoline park. Inside, you can expect a variety of trampoline covered floors, ball games, obstacle challenges, and foam pits.
It’s best to call ahead or make your reservation online as these locations can get busy. Fortunately, you have a couple of options for trampoline parks on the Georgia and South Carolina side of Lake Hartwell.
Challenge Your Friends To Indoor Cornhole
There’s just something about playing cornhole that is both fun and challenging. It’s a great game to play with a group of friends, and it’s become so popular that there are several groups dedicated to the sport.
In Anderson, you can play some indoor cornhole at the Upstate Cornhole Club for $3 or join for more benefits. You can also follow the Lake Hartwell Cornhole Club to find more cornhole enthusiasts.
See A Film At A Dinner Movie Theatre
If you’re looking for an indoor activity that is not quite so interactive, you could go to dinner and a movie. But have you ever been to a dinner at the movie theater?
On the South Carolina side, visit the locally owned Capitol Theatre in Laurens. A great place for the family to watch new releases and get some burgers and shakes.
