Got Kids? Here’s Three MUST DO Family Venues
If you’re coming to Hartwell and need a break from fishing, boating, sight-seeing and
shopping…and the kids are going crazy, here’s three fantastic family-friendly destinations of fun
you can take in all in the same day. Strap in, buckle up, and get ready for wild animals,
miniature golf, electric bikes and a jam-packed arcade and gaming center.
Hartwell Wildlife Safari: Where the Wild Things Roam
Your adventurous day could begin in the wild! Enjoy wild animals in a natural setting as you
drive through our Safari Adventure. Animals WILL come directly to your vehicle for photo
opportunities! Drive thru as much as you like for one admission price and then enjoy the Safari
Walkabout, Tortoise Lane and our Budgie Experiences afterwards.
Some of the animals you will see include American Bison, Ostrich, Camels, Water Buffalo,
Wildebeest, Zebu, Parakeets, Tortoises and much more! New animals are constantly being added
so come back often. Feed is available for purchase in the gift shop. The safari can take as little as
45 minutes or as long as you like until closing hours. Last vehicle entry is at 4:30 p.m.
The Wildlife Safari also offers field trips, summer camps, a weekend community bus, and rental
vehicles if you don’t want to have your personal vehicle to be “blessed” with giant tongue slobber, lol. Bring the entire family, and get those phones ready for pics and videos.
Pedals & Putts: Pedal-Powered Excitement for All Ages Plus Mini Golf!
After a thrilling safari adventure, it’s time to switch gears and scootch over to Pedals & Putts.
Located in the heart of Hartwell, Pedals & Putts offers a full 18 holes of mini golf, fun for all
ages. And they have special group and party rates available.
On the same grounds is the “pedals” portion of this fun spot. The owners, Paul and Renee
Chamley, operate a Pedego Electric Bike shop. Pedego, if you don’t know it already, is one of the
top lines in the world of electric bicycles featuring excellent quality, workmanship and
performance.
With a wide selection of electric bikes to rent (or purchase) this place offers Hartwell locals and
visitors an exhilarating way to explore the quaint town and its picturesque surroundings. There
are bike options for riders of all ages and skill levels. You’d be hard-pressed to find a cooler way
to cruise along scenic trails, pedal through quiet neighborhoods, and soak in the sights and
sounds of Hartwell at your own pace.
Hartwell Family Fun Center: Where the Fun Never Stops
Our day of adventure wouldn’t be complete without a visit to the Hartwell Family Fun Center.
This arcade and gaming center has something for your whole family to enjoy. This is a brand
new colorful and exciting token-operated arcade with over 20 games and even a video game
corner.
You’ll also find a complete snack bar offering both kid favorites (like hot dogs and personal
pizzas) as well as grown up food. There’s even a lounge with large screen TV’s, adult beverages for the parents, and a peaceful, quiet outdoor section for moms or dads to enjoy a beer and a
brisket sandwich.
Birthday parties and small group events are welcome. With a lively atmosphere and endless
opportunities for fun and laughter, the Hartwell Family Fun Center is the perfect place to cap off
an unforgettable day in Hartwell.
